Cleator Moor Celtic Under-16s

Cleator Moor Celtic have been celebrating a very special season for the club’s Under-16s team.

To mark their achievements the players have been presented with a Celtic Green Treble Winners’ polo shirt.

It was an all-conquering season for the youngsters as they went through all competitions unbeaten and without dropping a point in the League.

The treble was made-up of the Cumberland FA County Cup, the West Cumbria Youth League Under-16s Championship and the West Cumbria Youth League Cup.

It’s also the end of an era for this particular group of players as they will be in the Under-18s squad next season and be part of Celtic’s reserve squad. Their three coaches are also standing down for a deserved rest.

A club spokesman said: “All that’s left to say is well done lads on a fantastic achievement. Well done to the coaches for all the hard work they put in with the players and thank you to all the parents, family and friends for supporting them. Good luck to you all for the future.”

The squad, in their special polo shirts are: Back row, left to right: Corey Gill, Ellis McConagle, Ethan Smith, Nat Frankland, Fin Stephenson, Harley Nelson, Will Dorgan, Paddy Rooney, Marcus Atkinson, Ethan Thornton.

Front row: Tyler Green, Sam Dixon, Gareth McCarron (coach), Harley Cueto (capt), Mark Rooney (coach), Chris Thornton (coach), Ben McCarron.
