
Seaton A won through to the final of the CARL Cup for First Division clubs.
They led 14-0 at half-time against Ellenborough and despite losing the second-half won the game 28-16.
Elbra scored three tries in an eight minute spell during the last quarter of the game and Seaton needed a try two minutes from the end to put them clear again.
Three first-half tries from Ben Postlethwaite, Tom Dover and Ciaran Walker, one converted by Walker had pushed Seaton into their 14-0 half-time lead.
Postlethwaite crossed for his second four minutes into the second half and completed his hat-trick on 63 minutes.
Then Elbra staged a fighting come-back as Jonny Goulding (65), Jordan Ostle (69) and Ace Wedgewood (73) all crossed, with two conversions from Brett Stevenson.
Another Elbra score would have made it a very interesting last few minutes but Sam Blair crossed for Seaton two minutes from the end and Walker’s conversion wrapped-up the win.
There was one First Division game in which Hensingham A trailed at half-time but hit-back strongly to deny Egremont A a second-half point and win the game 42-20.
Sam Williams had scored a try in the first minute for Egremont and after Jake McBride had crossed on 12 minutes Williams grabbed his second five minutes before half-time.
Dylan Biggins also scored two minutes before half-time and there were two conversions from Lee Rogers.
Luca Hiddleston, Ben Wren and Logan Holgate scored first-half tries for Hensingham.
In the second-half Hensingham fought back well to take the lead and they went on to win well with tries from Hiddleston, Dylan Cornwell, Hector Holgate and Tom Pattinson (2). Dylan Bragg kicked a total of five goals.
