Whitehaven welcome back full-back Geronimo Doyle to the squad for tomorrow’s Championship visit of Widnes Vikings.
Doyle, signed from Swinton Lions during the winter, broke his arm early in the season.
He came back against Batley on July 3 but suffered a knock to the arm and has not played since.
It will be a welcome return because full-back Luke Broadbent starts a two-match suspension against the Vikings.
Also missing from the 21 named by coach Jonty Gorley is hard-working forward Liam Cooper who suffered concussion in last week’s defeat at Sheffield Eagles.
Haven will have tough ex-Papua New Guinea Dion Aiye international back from suspension which is a huge bonus.
Widnes coach John Kear has more players to pick from this week, but admits he has a headache in naming his starting 17.
“We played really well against Featherstone and were unlucky not to take something from the game.
“The lads who have come in give me a problem but it’s a headache any coach doesn’t mind.
“We were really focused, played with intensity and purpose and we will need exactly the same at Whitehaven.
“It’s not a myth that playing in Cumbria is always a tough challenge, ask any lads from down here that have played up there over the years.
“Whitehaven will be a challenge because they have a good mix of local talent and quality overseas players,” said Kear.
Steve Tyrer, Kenny Baker, Adam Lawton and Callum Field are all back in his squad.
Whitehaven will pick from: Aiye, Bradley, Bulman, Davies, Doyle, Dixon, Eccleston, Evans, Graham, Holliday, King, Martin, McAvoy, Olstrom, Teare, Singleton, M. Walker, T. Walker, Wilkinson, Williams.
Widnes Vikings’ 21 are: Spedding, Tyrer, Ince, Craven, Smith, Farnworth, Fozard, Wilde, Lawton, Baker, Lyons, Brown, Bent, Fleming, Davies, Edge, Tilleke, Holroyd, Doro, Field, Johnson.
