Kendal Town will be taking over 100 fans to the Isle of Man next Saturday for their North West Counties League clash.
Some are going on Friday for a night out on the island while others will fly out on Saturday from Manchester ahead of the game.
Chairman Michael O’Neill said: “It’s a bit of a contrast from my first game as chairman last season when there were four of us for the first away trip.
“I like to think it’s a reflection of how we are taking the club forward and we certainly appreciate the fans travelling in numbers next Saturday.
“We play at Squire’s Gate on Wednesday in a League game, too, and it looks as though we almost have a full squad back available again which will give manager Jimmy Marshall food for thought.
“Martin Grundy should be back in February which is a big bonus because he’s been out for a while and it looked at one point as though it would be a season-long job. He was probably our best player in the first month so to get him back sooner than expected is excellent news.”
Kendal have had to overcome a long period without any home game and, in fact, when they host Irlam on January 14 it will be their first game at Parkside Road for six weeks.
“That creates a cash flow problem but during this time we have introduced new income streams which have been so valuable and we will continue to use. Also we had a good Christmas raffle, with all prizes kindly donated and that helped.
“We are looking at holding another similar type raffle later in the season to help things along.
“I have said before, dealing with the inherited debt was our major priority and that has been done. Seeing us safely through cash flow issues is what we are currently dealing with,” said O’Neill.
