
Over £27,000 has been raised for the family of a rising rugby star who died suddenly this week, aged only 18.
Logan Holgate, who was a member of Hensingham ARLFC and part of the victorious England Lions squad who won the European Championship in Italy, died on Wednesday.

Tributes have poured in from far and wide for the youngster, who was described as one to watch and a star of the future.
He wore the number 7 shirt for Hensingham.
On Sunday, at the Ike Southward Memorial game between Workington Town and Whitehaven, the seventh minute the match will be stopped by the match official and both sets of players alongside the officials will have a minutes applause in memory of Logan.

Whitehaven said: “We invite fans of both Haven and Town to join to celebrate the life of a young lad lost far too soon. We can also confirm we will have a minute’s applause prior to the game to remember those we have lost over the off-season.”
The former St Benedict’s School pupil was an apprentice at Sellafield Ltd. The firm said: “He was a dedicated student, studying an electrical apprenticeship, and was an extremely popular young man.
“He will be greatly missed by his Gen2 tutors, fellow apprentices and the Sellafield Apprenticeship Team who worked with him on a daily basis.
“All of us at Sellafield Ltd and Gen2 send our deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues at this very difficult time.”
