Grant Savoury already linked with Carlisle United ahead of next transfer window

Carlisle United fans might want to make a note of the name Grant Savoury – a player that’s already been linked with the Blues ahead of the next transfer window.

According to the Football Insider, United are one of three clubs showing a keen interest in the 22-year-old attacking midfielder who joined Queen’s Park from Peterhead last year.

Savoury has been catching the eye with his performances under Owen Coyle and is under contract with the Glasgow club until June this year.

He originally started with Glasgow Celtic, working his way through the youth system at Parkhead but without making a senior appearance.

In 2020 he had six games on loan at Edinburgh City but Covid restrictions ended that spell and he then joined Peterhead on a two-year contract. He played 28 times for them, scoring six goals before he was signed by Queen’s Park and he has blossomed.

But if the link with Carlisle is correct the Blues will have competition from both Bradford City and Forest Green who are also said to be interested in Savoury’s progress.
