Crewe manager Lee Bell has urged his players to be ruthless as they take on Barrow this afternoon at the Mornflake Stadium.
Bell was pleased with the effort and quality the team produced in the 2-0 win at Doncaster last weekend.
But he warned there can be no complacency against a Barrow side still fighting for a play-off spot.
Bell said: “We still have loads of targets and we need more points, we need to make the gap bigger from those at the bottom.
“I don’t want anyone to watch Crewe in any game and think we are on the beach – I won’t accept it. I want to players empty the tank in every game, and I’ll be after anyone who thinks they can take their foot off the gas.
“We haven’t had enough wins, full stop. It’s so frustrating to think about how many more points we could have had if we’d have just been a bit more ruthless, or held on better. It would be nice to get back-to-back wins and that’s the aim.”
Crewe were well beaten 3-0 at Holker Street in October, on one of the most forgettable afternoons of the Alex’s campaign.
Former Alex striker Billy Waters was on target that day, but he switched to Wrexham last month.
Bell added: “We are far better than what we showed at their place, but it will still be a tough game.
“They are a good team. Billy has left, I think he was one of their top scorers, but they haven’t allowed it to weaken them.
“They have a good manager and it will be difficult, but we won’t look back at that game. We have to focus on the here and now.”
