Whitehaven have named two new faces in their 21-strong squad for the home game tomorrow against Keighley Cougars.

Loanee Sam Haynes from Rochdale Hornets joins local teenager Oscar Doran, a former Newcastle Falcons Academy winger in coach Jonty Gorley’s selection.

Their arrival comes at a time that Whitehaven have lost full-back Sam Freeman for the season with the second ACL injury of his career.

Also back in the Whitehaven squad is young forward Jake Bradley who spenty a short time on loan at Workington where he played once.

Haven are looking for a bumper crowd for the visit of the Cougars as a result of their latest  initiative which has been centred around local businesses.

The Whitehaven squad is: Dave Eccleston, Curtis Teare, Karl Dixon, Alex Bishop, Liam McAvoy, Tom Walker, Connor Holliday, Lachlan Lanskey, Dion Aiye, Jamie Doran, James Newton, Lasarusa Tabu, Guy Graham, Perry Singleton, Ryan King, Jake Bradley, Josh Rourke, Ross Ainley, Oscar Doran, Sam Haynes.

The big news from Keighley is that their star winter signing Luke Gale will not be involved following his departure to Super League side Wakefield Trinity.

Also missing out is experienced former Doncaster hooker Kyle Kesick has joined Midlands Hurricanes on an initial two-week loan period, with the agreement reviewed weekly thereafter.

Kesik is looking to get more game time and Keighley coach Rhys Lovegrove agreed this would be the best move for him to achieve his desire to play more minutes

Keighley’s 21-man squad: Lewis Young, Alix Stephenson, Charlie Graham, Mo Agoro, Dan Parker, Toby Everett, Aaron Levy, Harvey Spence, Brenden Santi, Josh Lynam, Ellis Robson, Brad Walker, Lloyd Roby, Dane Chisholm, Robbie Storey, Mark Ioane, Ben Crooks, Thomas Doyle, Sadiq Adebiyi, Keenen Tomlinson and Joe Gibbons.
