Cumbria Development team’s two-day match against the Northumberland Development team was abandoned.
The two sides were one ball into the 11th over this morning when the rain came, by which time Northumberland had reached 10/1 in 10.1 overs.
The first day had been wiped out completely, so the chance of a two-innings contest was lost, and the 50-overs game was nipped in the bud by the weather.
Louis Backhouse of Kendal took the wicket to fall, having Ed Foreman caught behind by Workington wicket-keeper Sam Bates for one.
Backhouse had 1-3 from his five overs while Cockermouth’s Sam Sharp had 0-5 from 5.1 overs.
It’s been a frustrating couple of days for both sides and Cumbria have no more fixtures arranged.
