
Whitehaven will confirm their Championship status with a win at Swinton in a key game this weekend.
Jonty Gorley’s men and Swinton, along with Keighley are battling to avoid the drop along with already doomed Newcastle Thunder.
Gorley has named an unchanged 21 for the game after last week’s defeat at Batley and it will be a special afternoon for Callum Phillips.
He played his first game of the season at Batley last week after a lengthy injury absence and is in line for his 200th career start against the Lions.
Eighty-one of those have come for Whitehaven in which he has scored 34 tries. The other apperances were with his first pro club Workington Town.
There will be some familiar names in the Swintpn squad topped by Dan Abram, the full-back who earned his place in Whitehaven folk-lore with his goal-kicking exploits against Workington Town.
Winger Richard Lepori spent time at the Recreation Ground while Rhodri Lloyd spent time on loan with both Whitehaven and Workington in 2015 from Wigan Warriors.
He has since gone on to play nearly 150 games for Swinton.
More recently hooker George Roby was on loan with Haven from Huddersfield.
