A section of the M6 is closed after a serious collision.
The motorway’s southbound carriageway is closed between Junction 42 – the Golden Fleece, Carlisle – and Junction 41 – Catterlen.
Our colleagues at Cumbria Road Watch are reporting that traffic is being diverted onto the A6.
The incident was reported at around 8.30pm. The road reopened at around 2.20am.
