Kendal Town were able to get in some action at the weekend even after their league game was postponed.
Jimmy Marshall took his team to Myerscough College where they played a bounce game with AFC Blackpool.
It finished 2-1 to the Mintcakes with goals from Ryan Winder and Jacob Gregory.
Chairman Michael O’Neill said: “We felt we needed to get in some football because it’s been so stop-start of late.
“Our thanks went to AFC Blackpool for agreeing ton the game at short notice.”
Kendal had planned to play a Morecambe side tonight in another friendly but that has now been postponed.
Hopefully the Parkside pitch will be in good order on Saturday when Kendal are due to take on Prestwich Heys in a North West Counties fixture.
It’s a big one for Kendal as they try to get their season back on track after slipping away to sixth after leading the table for the early weeks.
The visitors are fourth in the table, five points better off but from a game more.
