The top of the table clash between Barrow and Stockport proved a real Christmas cracker, ending 2-2.
But Barrow will be disappointed they did not earn the win as they held 2-0 lead against the League Two leaders.
Barrow appeared to be heading for an eighth successive victory after they went two goals ahead within 24 minutes with strikes from former Stockport player Ben Whitfield and Kian Spence.
But County boss Dave Challinor made a double substitution just before half-time and two more afterwards – which ultimately rescued a point for his side. Both goals came from replacements.
Barrow’s biggest crowd (5,866) for 54 years had been enthused by a goal on two minutes from Whitfield who turned in Spence’s shot for his eighth goal of the season.
Then the lead was doubled midway through the half when Whitfield crossed for Spence to finish clinically.
Stockport aren’t League leaders form nothing and In the second minute of stoppage time, Challinor’s first change Nick Powell drilled a low shot beyond Paul Farman.
It was ex-Barrow defender Akil Wrigh, another substitute, who headed home Odin Bailey’s cross for the equaliser nine minutes into the second-half.
Barrow could still have come back to win it as George Ray had a goal disallowed for a foul, while it took a brilliant save from Ben Hinchliffe to deny Emile Acquah.
