Speedway’s Ben Bonanza, which heads to Workington tomorrow, had had to make a late change to the line up.
Dan Thompson was injured in a fall at Belle Vue last night and his place is taken by Ashton Boughen, the teenage star who is no stranger to Northside.
Last season, at only 15-years of age, he beat a top field to win the Susan Roper Memorial after scoring 13 points in the qualifying races.
Steve Boxall matched that total whilst Jack Smith was just behind on 12. Having come through the semi-final, Boughen won the final ahead of Jack Smith whilst Max Perry was third, with Boxall missing out on the podium.
Boughen has had a meteoric rise after a successful Moto X career and is one of the brightest of the rising stars in British speedway.
The Ben Bonanza will start at 3pm.
