
Rescue teams were called out to an offshore medical emergency near Workington.
Whitehaven’s Coastguard were called out on Sunday July 21 to respond to the incident that happened around one mile off Workington.
The person suffering the medical emergency was brought to shore by the RNLI, where coastguard team members provided the person with care and an assessment.
The North West Ambulance Service then arrived to take over.
A spokesman for the coastguard said: “We wish the casualty a speedy recovery and hope they’re back on the water soon.”
Maryport Coastguard Rescue Team and Workington Lifeboat were also called out to the incident.
