A new 24-hour gym is getting ready to open in Whitehaven later this month.

PureGym, the UK’s largest gym operator, will officially open the doors to its new branch in Bridge Retail Park in the town at 12pm on September 26.

It operates around 400 gyms across the country.

The 8,000sq ft gym will feature a range of new equipment, a functional zone, free weights area, fixed resistance, cardio equipment and fitness studio.

It will also offer a range of classes included within the membership price alongside certified personal trainers and a free initial exercise induction.

The gym is set to create six new jobs and is offering opportunities for people interested in becoming a personal trainer.

An automated external defibrillator will also be in the gym as part of PureGym’s work with the British Heart Foundation.

A spokesperson for PureGym said: “We can’t wait to welcome members through the doors of PureGym Whitehaven!”

The gym is set to open in the town’s former Carpet Right store, next to B&M Homestore and Shoezone.
