Carlisle United hot-shot Regan Linney has been nominated for the Enterprise National League Player of the Month award for August.

The forward has netted five goals for the Blues in his first six competitive appearances, which included a hat-trick in United’s 5-0 win over Braintree Town at Brunton Park on Monday August 25 with his 79th minute strike.

He was also on the mark last night to win the game at Brackley.

The other nominations for the award are:

  • Mani Dieseruvwe – Rochdale
  • Ben Goodliffe – Southend United
  • Harvey Cartwright – Hartlepool United

There’s also a Manager of the Month award for the National League but Mark Hughes hasn’t been nominated for August.

The candidates are:

  • Jimmy McNulty – Rochdale
  • Robbie Savage – Forest Green Rovers
  • Kevin Maher – Southend United
  • Andy Butler – Scunthorpe United

Clubs will be informed of winners by the end of the week – with an announcement provisionally scheduled for next week.

The panel for August is Phil Alexander (National League), Matt Badcock (Non-League Paper) and Aaron Mclean (DAZN).
