A man who caused misery for people on a West Cumbrian housing estate has been banned from the town.
Nicholas Petre has been issued with an injunction banning him from Maryport for 12 months.
Housing association Home Group worked with the police and Maryport residents to collect enough evidence to apply for an injunction.
Petre was arrested and charged under the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014.
Petre is forbidden from engaging in any conduct that causes, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm, distress, nuisance, or annoyance to any Home Group customer, or member of staff.
The injunction also prevents him from entering any of Home Group’s homes in Maryport.
At West Cumbria Magistrates Court, District Judge Derbyshire warned Petre that failure to comply with the order could lead to a prison sentence.
A spokesman for Home Group, said: “This outcome sends a clear message that anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated in Maryport, or in any of our communities.
“We have worked closely with the police, residents, and the courts to protect our customers and restore peace to the neighbourhood.
“The injunction against Petre is the result of significant partnership working and demonstrates that when individuals cause distress and disruption, decisive action will be taken.
“Our priority is, and always will be, the safety and wellbeing of our customers. We want residents to feel safe in their homes and communities, and we will continue to use every power available to ensure that those who cause harm are held to account.”
Maryport Community Beat Officer PC Sam Steele said: “This is another example following the recent closure order on Rydal Avenue of how far we will go to combat those who terrorise our town.
“Let it be a warning for those who think they can be anti-social in our neighbourhoods.”
