Cleator Moor Celtic beat local rivals Whitehaven 3-1 to make progress in the Richardson Cup.

They had dominated the first half and led 2-0 at the break.

Dan Hill had gone through one-on-one after 17 minutes to open the scoring and skipper Callum Jackman doubled the lead on the half hour.

When Rhys Singleton made it 3-0 ten minutes into the second half it looked all over.

But Whitehaven then came more into the game and Carl Denvir pulled one back on 72 minutes.
