Cumbria will have two teams in tomorrow’s draw for the second round of the FA Vase.
Both Carlisle City and Holker Old Boys got through yesterday away from home against North West Counties opposition – and both did so from penalty shoot outs.
City drew 1-1 at Euxton Villa and then when it went to penalties they triumphed 4-3.
Meanwhile at Wythenshawe, the tie with Holker ended 2-2 and in the penalty shoot-out the South Cumbrians also won 4-3.
Holker had twice been behind in the tie but levelled each time, the second from Brandon Collins coming in the third minute of added time at the end.
Trailing 1-0 at half-time Tyler Spence had scored the first equaliser on 67 minutes.
Carlisle City were also 1-0 behind at Euxton Villa but drew level on 54 minutes through Callum Birdsall and it stayed that way until the end.
