A Cumbrian derby finished all square in the West Lancashire League on a weather-hit afternoon.
Cleator Moor Celtic extended their unbeaten run at Milnthorpe Corinthians where the point was enough to lift the home side off the bottom of the Premier Division.
Whitehaven’s game at CMB was postponed so the west Cumbrians are now at the foot of the table a point behind both Rossendale and Milnthorpe with matches in hand.
Five of the eight scheduled games were postponed including Millom’s trip to Hurst Green.
Celtic were fortunate to bring home a point from an improving Milnthorpe side who have strengthened their squad in recent weeks.
Young goalkeeper Logan Carson was outstanding, producing three fine saves to keep is side in the contest.
Although Celtic started well enough and took the lead, once Milnthorpe quickly levelled they were second best and rarely looked like posing a threat to the home side.
Josh Palmer had given them a 27th minute lead but that was quickly erased by Corinthians Toim Blamire.
Although far from their best that extended Celtic’s unbeaten run in all competitions to 11 games ahead of a tough looking trip to third in the table Lostock St. Gerard’s next week.
