
L & L Property Contractors Snooker League Division One leaders Station Road Club, swept aside last week’s disappointment.
They issued the perfect response with a resounding 4–1 home win over Division Two table-toppers Rack Shack.
Tom Thompson got the hosts off to a blistering start with a ruthless 77–7 dismantling of Lee Dougherty, punishing every mistake.
Station Road’s John Teasdale then kept the pressure on with a composed 66–26 win over Phil Denvir, extending the lead to 2–0.
The Rack Shack briefly threatened a come-back as Chris McKelvey produced a solid 65–9 performance to get the Whitehaven side on the board, but Kevin Kirkham restored Station Road’s cushion with a 60–34 win against Peter McAvoy for 3-1.
In the final frame, Darren Lawson sealed a dominant display for the leaders with a 51–19 victory over Adam Morilla to complete the resounding 4–1 Station Road triumph.
Station Road remain top of Division One, now with 30 points, while Rack Shack’s lead at the top of Division Two is narrowed, sitting on 21 points.
By contrast Workington Veterans Club A came crashing back down to earth as Division Two’s Maryport Social edged a 3–2 home win in a dramatic clash.

Maryport’s Ryan Ismay got the home side off to a flier with a confident 81–30 win over Mark Tunstall constructing a beautiful 52 break in the process.
However Kevin Basnett returned the favour as he demolished Andrew Sharp 78–1 to draw the match level at 1-1.
Frame three saw Paul Johnston lose 76–6 to Stuart Shepherd as Social moved 2-1 ahead.
Andrew Skidmore produced a solid display in the next to take out Mark Tatton 53–12 and put Maryport into an unassailable 3-1 home lead.
Vets did manage to ease the pain, however, with a 51–45 win over Andrew Scott in the last to drag it back to just one adrift at 3-2.
Maryport moved up to 18 points in Division Two, now just three behind the leaders. The Veterans sit fourth in Division One on 21 points.
Match three saw Workington’s United Club A keep up the pressure on Station Road with an impressive 4–1 away win at fellow Division One side Workington Conservative Club.
United A’s Dave Chapman opened with a confident 58–22 win over Julian Plaza before Darryl Walters followed with a composed 74–55 victory over two time county champion Alan Moore to double the lead.

The third frame saw Cons’ David Holland threaten to turn the tide in beating Clive Lister 50–39 but it was Mark Suitor who extended the advantage to 3-1 with a steady 54–40 win over Ryan Barker.
In the last United A captain Andrew Mitchelhill delivered a battling performance to defeat Brian Kendall 46–35, capping off a fine match victory in the process.
United Club A now sit four points behind Station Road on 26, while Workington Cons slip to 21 in third.
Finally, Workington Golf Club A produced a ruthless 4–1 away win against Workington Legion to increase their Division 2 title hopes.
Lewis Straughton started strong with a 63–48 win over Phil Sorfleet to put the Legion 1-0 up before Golf Club duo Mark Cowen and Simon Fraser made light work of their opponents—winning 63–13 and 63–23 against Dan Hallam and Adam Hodgson respectively.
Mark Brasted then defeated Legion’s Jordan Ferguson 62–12 to make it 3-1 before Lewis Tilley finally gave the Golf Club even more to cheer about with a 62–43 victory over Simon Tootle to end at 4-1.
Golf Club climb to 17 points in Division Two, while Legion remain bottom on 9 points.
