Barrow’s wait for a home win goes on after they lost 2-1 to promotion-chasing Salford.
The Bluebirds have not won at Holker Street since September 20 but they could feel hard done to on this occasion.
They probably deserved at least a share of the points but must continue to look over their shoulders, seven points clear of the drop zone.
Dan Udoh had scored the opener for Salford after 11 minutes when he got on the end of a cross from Kelly N’Mai.
Isaac Fletcher headed Barrow level after 20 minutes when he was able to reach a cross from Ben Whitfield and score his fourth goal of the season.
Salford were close to regaining the lead almost immediately when Kallum Casey saw a header strike the bar on its way over.
Jorge Grant’ was closest to a second for Salford when a well-drilled free kick was turned onto the bar by home keeper Wyll Stanway.
At the opposite end Scott Smith volleyed a cracking shot against the woodwork as Barrow almost grabbed the lead.
In the end, though, it was N’Mai’s sixth goal of the season seven minutes from time that separated the sides. He rounded off a swift counter attack by drilling home a well placed shot on the run.
It lifts Salford to fourth in the table, five points behind leaders Bromley.
