Barrow avoided any potential banana skin in their Challenge Cup tie at Wigan St Jude‘s by emerging 76-4 winners.
It was a professional and committed performance from the Raiders, who lost three players to injury in the first-half.
That left one substitute in debutant Steve Watson but the Championship side stayed in control to win as as the score suggests.
They had led 40-4 in the first-half and were able to add 36 more without reply after the turnround, scoring some exceptional tries in the process.
There was a sign of things to come when Tee Ritson sprinted over in the corner after only five minutes.
The tries followed quickly – Ellis Robson (12, 19), Charlie Emslie (28, 39), Luke Broadbent (30) and Ellis Archer (38) with Brad Walker converting six of them.
St Jude’s got on the score-sheet right on the hooter, with an unconverted try in the corner.
It was a similar story in the second half as tries came from Luke Cresswell (43), Matt Costello (48, 61), Ryan King (51), Archer (64) and Ritson (74). Walker converted all six.
