Barrow Raiders will be looking to make it three wins a row to start the season when they host the reborn Salford side.
Last season’s struggling Super League side, saved from oblivion by a consortium, are still putting together a squad and are looking for a first win in the Championship.
They were beaten 40-0 at home by Oldham in the first fixture but last week travelled south to play amateurs Hammersmith Hills Hoists in the Challenge Cup and went home with a 42-10 win.
Barrow will make three changes from last week’s squad after picking up injuries in the Challenge Cup tie at Wigan St. Jude’s. It was a comfortable 76-4 win but marred by those three first-half injuries.
Aiden Doolan, Trent Ruddy, Greg Richards and Dan Knott are all in this week after missing the action last week.
Barrow coach Paul Crarey said: “We actually got away lightly on the injury front and we don’t really know much about the Salford team.
“We have a capable squad who have done well in both games, but we can improve and that’s what we will be looking for.”
Ellis Archer, who played last season at Workington, has been confirmed as a Barrow player after impressing in games so far and signing a deal.
Barrow’s 21 squad is: Anderson-Moore, Archer, Broadbent, Bullock, Costello, Cresswell, Doolan, Emslie, King, Knott, Richards, Ritson, Robson, Ruddy, Stack, Teare, B. Walker, T. Walker, Watson, Wood, Woodend.
