Maryport Pool League leaders Sun Inn Ballers travelled to Dearham Sun Inn looking to extend their 100% record, but they came unstuck.

It was Dearham’s Sun Inn who took the lead as Blake Miller brushed aside Gary Miller in the first, and that soon became 2-0 when Adam Short got the better of Greg Todd.

The Ballers looked like they were up for a comeback when Willy Armstrong took the third frame only for Jack Basnett to make it 3-1 by beating Johnny Gray.

The Ballers were starting to sweat but Miller and Todd made it and then Armstrong and Gray tied the match at 3-3.

However, Danny Dryden and Adam Short won the decider by beating Miller and Todd to make it 4-3 to the Sun Inn, Dearham.

Sun Inn Sharks were away to Glasson Rangers and took a 2-0 lead as first David Wilson, and then Jobby Dunn earned the wins.

In the third frame Dean Petre beat Ryan Bedford to keep the game alive before Sharks captain Mel Scott made it 3-1 to put the Sharks on the verge of maintaining their 100% start to the season.

Wilson and Dunn won the fifth frame, followed by Scott and substitute Michael Prescott to make it 5-1. Finally Wilson and Prescott then got the last to make it 6-1.

It was the in-house derby in the Butcher’s as A took on B, and in a lightning start the A team put the game to bed.

George Close, Scot Iverson, Lee Volkearts and Colin Stables all won their singles to secure the result while Kevin Gartland, playing with Scott Atherton in the first double, got an eight-ball to make it 5-0.

Sean Carter and Ian Pattinson reduced the deficit to 5-1 followed by Lee Hodgson and Ian Pattinson making it 5-2 to Butchers A.

Paul Kirkbride had actually put the Bowling Club in front before Tyler Beales, Kieran Scott and Robbie Pattinson made it 3-1 to the Rugby Club.

Luke McKnight and Jack Kemp made it 4-1 before Jason Miller and Kirkbride pulled one back. Jack Burns and Thomas Crellin sealed an impressive victory.

Maryport Social hosted Elbra C and the home side took the lead through Ryan Ismay with Simon Forrest levelling it at 1-1 before Stephen Ismay made it 2-1.

Elbra’s Luke Nicholson made it all square before Social Club again took the lead 3-2 but Elbra were not to be denied though as Jonathan Webster and Ian Lancaster tied the game 3-3 before Darren Rowley and Forrest secured the 4-3 victory.

Sun Inn Cannons played host to Swan Inn and the visitors shot ahead with wins from Mark Mattocks, Gareth Pattinson and Stephen Pattinson. Zane Alderson was the sole singles winner.

Alderson and Tommi Allan then won the opening double to make it 3-2, and that advantage was stretched by Carl Daley and Matty Little. Gareth and Stephen Pattinson then secured a 5-2 victory.

Elbra A took on Grasslot and went into a 2-0 lead as Tony Lambert then Jason Thompson secured the wins. Keith Anderson and Trevor Bethwaite made it 2-2 as they headed into the doubles.

Thompson and Pat Walton put Elbra back in front before Lambert and Aaron Osliff won the match for the home side.
