
In the Aspatria Pool League Sun Inn A played host to Cumberland A and they got off to a good start with David Thompson winning the opening frame.
It was a significant win as it earned David the league’s player of the year trophy.
Geoff Davies pulled the next frame back for the Cumberland, but the league leaders took control by the remaining four frames to win the match and secure the league title in the process.
Davies won again to help take the first double for Cumberland A, but Sun Inn won the last two doubles for a 7-2 win.
Miners B, Prospect, were at home to Wigton Rugby Club and Chris Hird and Darren Bowe got them off to the perfect start by winning the opening two frames.
That’s when it turned, however, with the Rugby Club taking the last four singles and first two doubles, thanks to Luke Marshall-Dowell and Louie Elliot winning their second games of the night.
Miners B took the last double but Wigton Rugby Club prevailed by 6-3.
Second-in-the-table Sun Inn B travelled to Wigton to play Throstle B and Ben Scott won the first frame with an excellent 8ball clearance.
That effort gave Ben the League’s 8ball trophy as over the season he has made four 8ball clearances.
David Edwards made it 2-0 to the Sun, but Throstle B stormed back winning the next three singles, with Dan Foy showing his ability by making a superb 8ball clearance.
Gary Miller pulled the match level at 3-3, and then Sun Inn went 4-3 ahead as Scott won his second game of the night.
However, Throstle won the last two doubles and the match 5-4 thanks to Wayne Jackson, Steve Graham and Foy with their second wins.

Letters A played Wigton Park BC, and the in-form Brady Bell won the first frame for the Bowlers, but the Letters A took the next three frames to open up a 3-1 lead.
Caden Corrigan and Mark Jones pulled the match level for Wigton Park at 3-3, but Letters A then took control, winning all the three doubles for a 6-3 win. They had two wins from Rod Campbell, James Rumney and Shaun Wilson.
Letters B travelled to Silloth to play Cumberland B, and in a dominant display of pool, the home side won all six singles to take a convincing 6-0 lead after the singles.
The domination continued in the doubles with Letters only winning one of the three and there were two wins on the night from Adam Hocking, Steve Whitehead, Rob Lauder and Joe Thompson.

Struggling Sun Inn FC entertained Throstle A with Ian Johnston winning the first frame for the visitors.
Sun Inn FC responded by going 2-1 ahead thanks to Zane Alderson and David Wilson, but the match swung in Throstle’s favour, with them winning the remaining three singles.
FC pulled the match back to 4-3, but Throstle took the last two doubles to win the match 6-3. There were two wins by Martyn Frizell and Ashley Brough for the Throstle team.
