A Cockermouth road will remain closed over the bank holiday weekend after work to improve it became delayed.
DSD Construction Limited is carrying out the work on Lorton Street on behalf of Cumberland Council.
Work began on March 16 and was due to last for three weeks, but the council said due to engineering difficulties with the new road surface, it had to be extended.
The road will remain closed this weekend so there is no access to Lorton Street via Station Road.
Access for residents, Mitchells Auction, and the Methodist Church will be granted for the bank holiday weekend via Kirkgate and down Victoria Road.
Work will resume on Tuesday April 7 and the scheduled completion date is April 11.
Three-way temporary traffic lights at Kirkgate and Market Place junction remain in place.
Access for emergency services will also be via Kirkgate and down Victoria Road during this bank holiday weekend. Access for emergency services will be maintained through the road closure from Tuesday April 7.
