There were plenty of points in the Cumbria Conference with four of the winning sides all racking up big scores.
It left the clash between Distington and Millom as the most competitive game in which the Woollybacks went home with a 28-18 victory.
Distington had controlled the first half an hour but there was confusion over a sinbinning and at half-time Millom had established a 16-10 lead with tries from Rio Walker, Rio McQuistan and Josh Blinkhorn, two of them converted by Ricky Donoghue.
Millom started to take control in the second half after Distington had closed the gap and they scored further tries through Owen High and Donoghue, with both improved by Donoghue.
McQuistan, released by Whitehaven last month and returning to his former community club, was Millom’s man of the match.
The Distington tries were scored by Jaiden Hewer (2), Kieran Worthington and Callum Fox with Scott George landing a conversion. James Motum was man of the match.
Distington coach Ryan Hodgson gives his thoughts below:
Barrow Island reached 70 points against Maryport but the Allerdale club had up to 30 players unavailable over the weekend and it is to their great credit that they fulfilled both first team and A team fixtures.
The Islanders were in no mood to show sympathy and produced an exhibition in clinical finishing as they ran in 12 tries, 11 of which were converted by Ellis Archer, on dual registration from Barrow.

The tries came from Archer (2), Finn Dutton (2), Trent Ruddy (2), Max Anderson-Moore, Tyler McPoland, Cam Currie, Ollie Holmes, Hudson Payne and Adam Ford.
Tyler Chilton scored the try for Maryport, who will have a good proportion of their players on Saturday for the game with Distington.
Dalton were 52-12 winners over Ellenborough Rangers to continue their good start to the season.
But despite the scoreline Dalton felt they had to work hard for the win against a tough, aggressive Elbra side.
They had to defend strongly early on before gaining some good field positions with Scotland Under-19s player Isaac McLean looking sharp at hooker.

The forward pack gave a good platform for halfbacks Harry Gordon and Conor Grant to run some nice shape and set plays which saw them take the lead with tries from full-back Ross Bird, centre Knott and prop Tom Sharpe who scored after following up a clever kick from Gordon.
A couple of handling errors in their own 30 did give Ellenborough a deserved try but the hosts finished the half strongly and after a break from McLean at dummy-half, well supported by Gordon and Tom Farren it gave them a 28-6 lead going into the break.
Dalton kept their momentum going into the second-half with back-rower Floyd Tweddle crashing over before the visitors got on a roll and scored their second try.

The home side regrouped and earned some good ball possession and were able to capitalise with Grant breaking through to score.
Another try came quickly afterwards and on his debut 17-year-old forward Ryu McDermott crashed over following a strong carry.
The game finished with Bird slicing through to complete his hat-trick and earn a deserved man of the match.
The Ellenborough tries were scored by their man of the match Gary Tierney and Johnny Goulding with two conversions from Brett Stevenson.
League leaders Hensingham made it five from five with a 62-22 home win against Ulverston.
They had the game won by half-time sitting on a 38-6 lead after going in front after only six minutes with an unconverted try by Cohen Massey.
They had gone 28-0 clear by the time Ulverston pegged back points with a converted try in the 28th minute.
The first half tries were scored after Massey’s opener by Dylan Bragg (2), Miller Dalton, Preston Meloy, Lucas Roper and Dan McGarry. Five were converted by Bragg.
Koby Conway added the eighth try three minutes into the second-half and then Ulverston had their best spell of the match, scoring two converted tries in the space of five minutes.
Massey and Meloy went in again before battling Ulverston scored a fourth try.
In the last six minutes Fletcher Holgate, and Bragg to complete his hat-trick, touched down and Bragg finished with seven conversions
Marc Storey, Max Nisbet, Rob Pike and their man of the match Josh Rankin scored the Ulverston tries, three of them converted by Nisbet.

Seaton Rangers were also back to winning ways with a 48-12 home win over Hindpool Tigers.
It was a tight first half with Seaton leading 18-6 but they pulled away in the second-half to win comfortably as the Tigers actually finished with just 11 fit players after starting with just one sub. A late sin-binning didn’t help their cause.
But Seaton officials were quick to praise the effort and commitment put in by the Tigers for the whole 80 minutes.
Brandon Walker (3), Todd Wilkinson (2), JC Bryan (2) and Jaiden Tallantire scored the Seaton tries with Kieran Robinson kicking eight goals. Jacob Walker was man of the match.
Ryan Barker scored both tries for Hindpool and Sam Beattie kicked the goals.
