Whitehaven are looking to continue their good end-of-season form away to CMB.
Bottom of the West Lancashire League Premier Division, the County Ground side have put together an unbeaten run of three games – too late to save them from relegation but raising spirits ahead of next season.
Two draws were followed by a 4-1 derby win at Cleator Moor Celtic on Tuesday night and today’s hosts have lost five home games so far, to go with four wins and four draws.
Manager Brian Dawson said: “Unfortunately we are five players short from the side which did so good at Cleator Moor.
“That’s down to injuries, unavailabilities and a couple of the Under-18s who are going to Reds’ last game at Borough Park.”
Cleator Moor Celtic boss Gareth Agnew was very disappointed in his side’s performance in the derby and is hoping for a reaction at Rossendale.
“We have a number of young players stepping up from the Under-18s so it’s an opportunity for them to show their potential,” he said.
Millom will be looking to get back into winning mode when they host Astley and Buckshaw United while Milnthorpe Corinthians will feel they can take care of Hurst Green after almost toppling champions Eagley in mid-week.
In the Wearside League Windscale complete their season at new champions Seaton Carew 10 days after a fine 2-2 draw with them at Egremont.
But the Atoms have depleted numbers due to a mix of work and personal commitments.
Manager Stephen Fawcett said: “We will travel with a squad of 13. Seaton Carew have won the league so hopefully they will still be hungover from their celebrations.”
