Plans to remove 15 hectares of trees and remove waterworks have been revealed for Lake District reservoirs.
United Utilities said it wanted to remove ageing conifer trees around Haweswater and replace them with native species including oak, birch and rowan.
It said the current trees were increasingly vulnerable to wind damage, disease and pose a wildfire risk.
At Blea Water, it is proposing to remove old infrastructure, including a disused weir and pipework, which it said would return the site to a more natural state and improve the environment.
The infrastructure was previously used as part of its water supply network.
The company will host two drop-in events for the community to find out more at Bampton Memorial Hall tomorrow, Sunday June 7 and Monday June 8 between 11am and 5pm.
United Utilities added: “The plans have been developed with input from a number of organisations, including the Environment Agency, Natural England and the RSPB.”
