Luke Hunter says he was pleased to get the deal done and re-sign for Workington Reds earlier this week.
The 25-year-old striker had other offers, including from Northern Premier League champions Hebburn Town.
But he got on well with Reds boss Billy Barr during his short loan spell at Borough Park and said that in the end returning was a ‘no brainer.’
He also said that Barr had kept in touch with him when he returned to Fylde, encouraging him all the time.
Following his signing by Fylde in November last year he only made three starts and joined Reds on loan in February.
In five games he scored twice as Reds started to turn round their season.
It was a sudden recall by Fylde which brought his Workington stint to an end but frustratingly he was still out of the picture at the National North side.
In an interview with Cumbria Crack’s John Walsh, you can hear below Hunter talking about his decision to sign on a two year deal, the frustrations at Fylde and how Penrith manager Jim Nichols suggested he could score 30 goals for the Bonnyblues.
