[P]olice are investigating a burglary whereby a savings jar was stolen from the living room of a property on the Cloverfields Estate, off Peter Lane, Carlisle.
The savings were for a newly born baby girl, whose parents had saved the money given by family and friends as gifts.
The jar is believed to have contained around £300 in cash. The money was going to be put in a savings account for the baby girl, who is only 3 weeks old, and used to buy her some new clothes.
The savings jar is described as pink ceramic, with “beautiful baby girl” written around it.
The burglary has occurred between Saturday 12th August and the Morning of Monday 14th August.
Police are appealing for witnesses or information in connection with this crime. Anyone with information should call Cumbria Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
