Workington Reds manager Chris Willcock is already focusing on Tuesday’s first home game with City of Liverpool.
He admitted to being delighted to get off the mark with a 1-0 win at Kidsgrove.
“No doubt it will have been a long, but happy, trip back home for the lads and I know they enjoyed the win.
“But we don’t dwell on the highs and the lows that football brings you. It’s all about Tuesday night now and a visit from City of Liverpool.
“They drew 0-0 with my old club Ramsbottom and I will be speaking to my former number two who is now in charge at Rammy.
“Every team offers a new challenge but I was particularly pleased with how we handled Kidsgrove.
“They are a physical side who play pretty direct, putting you under pressure for first and second balls.
“But I was pleased with how we defended against them. We stood up to them well, particularly as they started the game strongly on the front foot.
“They didn’t pose too many threats, probably about two chances in the whole game and both from goal-mouth scrambles.
“We scored a good goal and at times, particularly in the latter stages of the first half, got the ball down and played some good stuff.
“The other good thing is there were no injuries so everyone should be available when we go again on Tuesday night.”
