
A 19-year-old has been given a 33-week sentence for having razor blades in public while serving a suspended sentence.
Nia Atkins appeared before magistrates in Barrow on January 31 and admitted being in possession of razor blades on Penrith Street in Barrow a day earlier without lawful authority or good reason.
She also admitted breaching the terms of her suspended sentence by committing the offence.
Atkins, of Ramsden Street in Barrow, was sentenced to 21 weeks in a youth offenders institute for the offensive weapons charge and a further 12 weeks for committing the offence while serving a suspended sentence.
She was also ordered to pay a £156 victim surcharge.
