Ellenborough Rangers have planned a special event tomorrow as a tribute to their late chairman Kevan Gorge.
A game between Past and Present players will be staged (kick-off 2pm) and there will be competitions in the clubhouse afterwards.
Kevan’s son, Paul, who is the club coach, said: “It was our captain Andy Ostle who came up with the idea of doing something to remember dad and the game involving ex-players was a natural to come up with.
“I know ex-players like Paul McGee, Dave Whitworth and Eddie Robinson are among a number of our old boys who are prepared to put their boots back on.
“We have a number of players who are a bit old now to get back out and play, although they would all love to, but they are coming along just for a catch-up.
“There will be some competitions/games in the club afterwards and we also have two singers booked for entertainment with a buffet provided as well.
“We are hoping it’s going to be a bit special but lots of people are talking about it and looking forward to the day.
Kevan, a former chairman of Workington Town, was president of the Ellenborough club and he died suddenly in December 2020.
