Firefighters have tackled a blaze at a former Workington dance hall.
Crews were called to the Princess Hall on Princess Street to tackle the blaze at around 6.15pm yesterday, July 16.
Three fire engines and the aerial ladder platform attended and firefighters used two hose reel jets, one ground monitor and two thermal imaging cameras. Fire crews were detained about two hours.
The road was closed while emergency services were at the scene and people were asked to avoid the area.

The extent of the damage is not known.
The Princess Street venue was used by the DVLA and most recently, became a second-hand furniture shop.
In May, plans were lodged for the building to be demolished to make way for shops and homes.
