Fifty-one Wilko stores will be bought by B&M for £13 million, it has been announced.
In Cumbria, Wilko has stores in Workington, Whitehaven, Carlisle, Cockermouth and Barrow. It is not known if any of them are part of the B&M deal.
The saved stores will not be revealed until B&M publishes its half-year financial results on November 9.
A bid from HMV buyers, M2 Capital, to purchase the whole of the collapsed high street retailer fell through last Thursday.
It is believed the majority of the new stores will rebrand as B&M.
