It should have been a full house of T20 action tonight across the county, but rather sadly one game has been conceded.
Whitehaven have 19 players unavailable, through one reason or another, and can’t put together a team to travel to Egremont in the west group.
Group leaders Workington are having a dreadful time of it in the Cumbria League Premier Division, but have won both their T20 games against Whitehaven and Egremont.
Tonight they travel to Cleator, who like Workington are struggling in the league, but they have also lost both games in the short format.
Wigton are the leaders in the North Group and tonight they play under the lights at Edenside against Carlisle, having earned their place at the top with victories over Cockermouth and Keswick.
Carlisle enjoy putting on these games under lights and in the past have attracted crowds of around 1,000 to Edenside and are hoping the good weather forecast encourages similar amounts of enthusiasts to have a look down tonight.
In the other Group game Keswick, without a win, entertain Cockermouth and with competition between the two clubs always intense a good game is in prospect.
The big game in the South Group the leaders Millom are at home to the team lying second in Furness, the trophy holders.
Dalton, who have beaten Furness, are at home to Haverigg, still looking for their first win in the competition.
