It looks as though Carlisle-born midfielder Joe White will be plying his trade in the south again this coming season.
White, 22, and with Newcastle United for the last nine years, is being lined up for a loan spell with Leyton Orient.
Last season he was on loan with Milton Keynes where he figured 34 times and scored six goals.
He has played four times in the Premier League for Newcastle but has been gaining senior experience with loan spells at Hartlepool (15), Exeter (16) and Crewe (20).
He was capped three times by England at Under-18’s level.
Football is in the blood as he is the grandson of the late Peter Hampton who played 355 league games which included spells at Leeds, Stoke, Burnley, Rochdale and Carlisle.
He was Carlisle’s physio for 11 years and also had a spell as Workington manager in which he led them to the North Western Trains League title.
He died suddenly while on holiday in Cyprus at the age of 66 almost five years ago.
