Home draw for Workington Reds in FA Trophy

Borough Park

Workington Reds have landed a tasty home draw in the third qualifying round of the FA Trophy.

Darren Edmondson’s side will have FC United of Manchester as their visitors to Borough Park on October 4.

Earlier this month the two sides fought out a cracking 0-0 draw with Workington unlucky not to topple their illustrious visitors.

FC United arrived then as league leaders but they have subsequently lost their position at the top to Lancaster City, managed by ex-Kendal Town boss Jimmy Marshall.

FC United have been well supported in league matches away from home, and even on a Tuesday night brought over 150 to Borough Park.

They will be expected to have strong backing for the Saturday fixture in the trophy to boost the Workington crowd figure.

Selected northern ties:

  • Hyde Utd v Warrington Town
  • Ashton United v Clitheroe
  • Dunston v Warrington Rylands
  • Workington v FC United
  • Stockton Town v Lower Breck
  • Silsden v Stocksbridge Park Steels
  • Runcorn Linnets or Bury v Morpeth Town
  • Bridlington v Guiseley
  • Bradford PA v Heaton Stannington
  • Whitby Town v Hebburn Town
  • Prescot Cables v Lancaster City
  • Gainsborough Trinity v Shifnal Town
