
A woman had to be rescued after she injured her ankle while out on a Lake District walk.
The woman and her boyfriend were on Catbells on Monday, November 17, when she slipped and hurt her ankle.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team were called out.
The team said: “Keswick team were quickly on scene and provided pain relief, splinted her ankle and sledged her down to the road.
“In our chats it was revealed that the woman and her boyfriend were on a trip to the Lakes where he’d popped the question the previous day.
“Hopefully they were still able to celebrate the first day of their engagement. We wish her a swift recovery and the couple a happy future together.”
