Only four games were played in the Cumberland County League on another weather-hit weekend.
Two of them were in the Premier Division and the other two were played in Division One.
Maryport Athletic returned to winning ways while Whitehaven Miners Social stayed on their heels with a big win to go a clear third.
Champions Maryport have had a disappointing 2026 but they were back to something like their best form with a good 3-0 win at Mirehouse, who have been closing in on them.
Joe Hetherington, Jack Kemp and Josh Pattinson scored the goals which put the Maryport side a point behind leaders Unisun Athletic but from two more games played.
Whitehaven Miners Social were 7-1 winners at home to Wigton Harriers as Alex Parr (3), Braydon Walmsley (2), Hadley Davies and Owen Woods were on target. Harvey Harrison scored Wigton’s consolation.
In Division One Carlisle City Development lost for the 16th time in as many games but it was a close run affair as they went down 4-3 at home to Bransty Rangers.
Sanoussi Diallo (2) and Tom McEwan scored for City but Bransty won with goals from Spike Canavan (2), Lewis High and Chris Armstrong.
The other game was even tighter, finishing 1-1 between Whitehaven reserves and Unisun Athletic Development.
Khalid Azeez put the Development side ahead and an own goal earned Whitehaven their point in the second half.
