Tuesday saw the final meeting at Seaton for the 2025 season.

With many hounds now being laid off runners were few and far between.

There were two entered for the senior hounds and at halfway point the hounds were picked up as they seemed to be struggling.

Both were local hounds so were maybe too familiar with the local terrain.

The open pups faired slightly better with seven runners. Jenny’s Chance for Denise and Jenny Bland and Graham Little was sent off as favourite.

The little bitch seems to have come into form just as the season is finishing.

As they crossed at Flimby Brow it was I Am It for Ruth and Charlie Dixon followed by Brown Sugar for Graham and Les Reid and Ellie Napier then Jenny’s Chance in third place.

Once back up from Flimby wood it was Foxparke Rita’s Rose who was leading for Robyn, Ellie, Grace and Nicola Napier and Brook Butler followed by Tanya Satterthwaite’s Pied Piper, Brown Sugar then Jenny’s Chance.

But once they got over the last road and onto the finishing fields it was Jenny’s Chance who had taken the lead.

Once through the last gate it was a great race between Jenny’s Chance and I Am It with the favourite just getting up by a short nose. Alan Blacklock and Carole Harrison’s Busy Rascal stayed on well to take third place with Foxparke Rita’s Rose in fourth.

Pied Piper was fifth with Brown Sugar finishing in sixth.

The last race of the night was the open non winners with a field of three hounds.

Once slipped and heading towards Flimby Brow it was Foxparke Cheese and Beans who was leading by about fifty yards from kennel mate and litter mate Foxparke Waddle Waddle.

Spring Ribbon for Jenny Horn was in third place and once onto the finsh Foxparke Cheese and Beans had maintained her lead and finished nicely to win.

In second place, about 50 yards behind, was Foxparke Waddle Waddle and then Spring Ribbon was a little way back but finished well to take the third ticket.
